• The Energy Efficient Home Improvement credit (25C) allows households to deduct up to 30% of the cost of electric upgrades to their homes, including home energy audits (max $150), heat pumps, insulation, and breaker box upgrades, from their taxes.
• Upgrade costs for equipment and installation/labor are included in the deduction.
• The deductions are limited to $600 per measure, with a maximum of $1,200 per household per year, except for heat pump water heaters or heat pumps for space heating and cooling, for which households can deduct 30% of the costs, up to $2,000.

The High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Act (HEEHRA) provides point-of-sale consumer discounts to enable low- and moderate-income households across America to electrify their homes. Notably, households will experience HEEHRA’s point-of-sale rebates as immediate, off-the-top discounts when making qualifying electrification purchases.
